The Korean Cultural Center of Chicago (KCCoC) announced that the term of its 8th Chairman of the Board, Yoon Tae Kim, began on January 1, 2026. This follows the conclusion of Chairman Chunghee Kang’s term at the end of 2025, and the Center expressed its deep appreciation for her dedication and contributions. Chairman Yoon Tae Kim emphasized the importance of building a foundation for passing Korean cultural heritage on to future generations through teamwork and collaboration. 문화원 송년의 밤 2025 The 2025 End-of-Year Celebration for the associated classes was successfully held at BISCO Hall. The event featured presentations and performances from each class, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. The evening concluded with a group Zumba dance.   문화원에서 이루어지는 협력 수업들의 연합 송년의 밤이 비스코홀에서 열려 성황리에 마쳤다. 각 수업들의 활동 발표와 공연으로 흥겨운 시간을 가지고, 마지막에 다함께 줌바댄스로 마무리하였다.

– 이동식 작가의 달항아리 작업 시연회, 예술과 전통의 감동 선사 –   시카고한인문화원(이하 문화원)이 주관한 2025 한가위 축제: Moon Festival이 지난 10월 11일(토) 문화원 비스코 홀 (BISCO Hall)에서 성황리에 열렸다. 올해 축제의 하이라이트는 한국 현대 도자기의 대가 이동식 작가의 달항아리(Moon Jar) 제작 시연이었다. 이동식 작가는 흙을 반죽하여 준비하고 두 개의 반구를 물레에 돌려서 성형하고 두 반구를 정교하게 이어 붙인 후 달항아리 입 (Mouth of the jar) 부분을 만들고 내부를 다듬는 과정을 현장에서 선보이며 달항아리가 완성되어 가는 전통적 작업 과정을 생생하게 보여주었다. 행사장을 가득 매운 미술·세라믹 전공자, 예술 애호가, 한인 및 비한인 지역 주민들이 흙이 예술로 탄생하는 달항아리 작업 시연을 감탄...
