This exhibition presents Sijo-Inspired Artworks, inspired by prize-winning sijo from the Sejong Writing Competition, organized by the Sejong Cultural Society. Students from William Howard Taft High School in Chicago read and interpreted sijo—Korea’s traditional poetic form with nearly a thousand years of history—and reimagined them as contemporary visual artworks. Through education, creative programs, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the Sejong Cultural Society works to introduce sijo as part of literary and arts education in the United States.
