2019.5.29 “Experience Korea Day” Sponsored by 250 Korean students from 10 Midwestern American Schools (mainly the Korea Institute of Education) 2019년 5월 29일 시카고 한인 문화회관과 한국교육원이 주최하는 “한국체험행사”에 중서부 미국학교 한국어반 학생들이 참석했다. 250여명의 학생들은 준비된 여러 이벤트를 즐기고 한국음식을 먹으며 다채로운 시간을 가졌다.
2019년 5월 28일 시카고 한인 문화회관에는 제임스 엔 갬블 몬테소리 고등학교(James N Gamble Montessori High school)의 한국어 반 학생들이 방문해서 한국 전통혼례를 재현하며 직접 참여하는 시간을 가졌다. 학생들은 신랑, 신부, 혼주 들의 역할을 정하여 문화회관에서 마련한 모든 소품을 사용하여 진행된 혼례 절차에 열성적으로 참여했다. 이들은 혼례복, 혼례상등 색다른 결혼식을 사진에 담으며 흥미를 보였다. 앞으로 한인문화회관은 전통혼례 체험을 정규프로그램화하여 보다 많은 미국인들에게 한국의 전통 혼례식을 선보일 예정이다. On May 20, a scholarship ceremony was held at the Gallery of Korean Cultural Center, sponsored by artists from SAIC and Korean Cultural Center of Chicago. Currently, Korean artists (Inhye Lee, David Huh, Hyeri Won and Yeji Min) selected two art-talented Korean high school students (Lee, Ga-Eun and Han, Hyo-ri) and presented them with a scholarship with Korean Cultural Center. Artists raised funds on May 12 through a pop art show at the Chicago Council Space.
