Biography: Ursula was a painter long before she became a photographer. She graduated from the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin in Poland with a Master’s Degree in Painting and Art Education. After moving to Chicago, Ursula got more and more interested in photography. This led her to the Oakton College, where she earned a Certificate in Photography, and she started to participate in photography exhibitions like those organized by the college.

Exhibition Information: Upside Down – two poles and Right Side Up – infinity. Both series touch the deepest
and most delicate strings in relations. There are moments of joyfulness but difficulties as
well. It’s a fascination with the other person, love and harmony but on the other side
fighting and turning the partner’s life upside down. Opposites attract and there is hope
for a return to balance. Close ups, gestures and body language, this is my way to
express the subject. The old cyanotype technique allowed me to dress up the topic in the patina of time and
look at this issue in unconventional way. This old photographic technique allows for a margin of randomness and unpredictability. The same negative exposed to sunlight and processed will look each time differently.

경력: Ursula Lelen은 사진작가가 되기전에 화가였다. 폴란드에있는 Maria Curie-Sklodowska University에서 그림과 미술교육석사 학위로 졸업을하였다. 시카고로 이사온후 사진술에 관심이 더욱더 생기면서 Oakton College에서 사진 자격증을 따고 대학에서 계취한 사진전시회에 참여를하게되었다.

“사진은 손으로 사진기를 들기전 부터 머리에서 시작하는 과정이다.”

사진 전시회: Ursula Lelen의 “Upside Down Right Side Up”는 cyanotype 이라는 사진기법을 이용한 사진들을 전시합니다. 이 오래된 사진기법은 예측할수 없는 사진들을 만들어 냅니다.
