‘The Unique Lines of Kores: Hanbok’ Special Exhibition Opening Reception ‘한국의 선, 한복’ 특별전시회 오프닝 리셉션
Korean Cultural Center of Chicago held a special exhibition “The Unique Lines of Korea: Hanbok”, to celebrate Lunar New Year.
Despite the uncertain times due to Covid-19, KCCoC opened its Gallery space to the local community in hopes of providing a time of healing through the exhibition.
Exhibition not only focuses on the history of the hanbok but also on the ‘beauty in harmony with nature’ to show various kinds of Korean Hanbok and the fashion trends and changes at a glance.
The opening reception held at 5pm on Saturday, February 6th, was attended by 35 people dressed in Hanbok, a dress code, by advance reservation.
Guests who wore hanbok for the evening are encouraged to send pictures of themselves wearing hanbok at the exhibition. At a later date, KCCoC will announce the best dresser with a prize.

시카고 한인문화회관 설맞이 한복 전시회
우리 민족의 가장 큰 명절인 설날을 맞아 시카고 한인문화회관 갤러리와 박물관이 ‘한국의 선, 한복’ 특별전시회를 기획하였다.
Covid-19이 아직도 우리를 자유롭지 못하게 하고 있는 상황 속에서 한인문화회관의 갤러리 공간을 지역사회에 오픈하여 힐링의 시간을 제공하고자 하는 취지이다.
2월 6일 토요일 오후 5시에 진행된 오프닝 리셉션은 사전예약으로 35명이 드레스 코드인 한복을 차려입고 참석하였다.
전시는 70~80년대 이민 당시의 한복들과 2020년대 한복들을 주제별로 함께 전시하여 한복의 변화와 다양한 종류를 보여주고 있으며 3월 3일까지 예정되었던 전시회가 꾸준한 관람객의 방문으로 3월 31일까지 연장되었다.
한복을 입고 관람한 후, 관람 인증사진을 이메일 (jungyounkim@kccoc.org) 로 보내면, 전시 일정이 끝난 후 베스트드레서를 선정하여 소정의 상품을 드릴 예정이다. 지인들 혹은 가족들과 갤러리 나들이 하며 새로운 한류의 주인공, 한복의 위상을 다시 한번 느낄수 있는 기회가 되길 바란다.
