The National Museum of Korea launched the ‘Studio M:On’ on September 21, 2020, to provide interactive online learning programs in real-time.

For their first program, the “Explore Cultural Heritage with Overseas Koreans” was aired. This was a collaborative work with the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago and Korean Cultural Centre Australia. The children’s program “We are cultural heritage savers” was broadcasted on local Chicago time Sunday September 20 at 8pm (Korea time Monday September 21 at 10am) through Zoom, and the first topic was on ‘Celadon’.

Being the first event, many people attended this event including the National Museum of Korea Director General, Kidong Bae and other museum committees.  And from Chicago, about 60 people attended the Zoom, including KCCoC President, Executive Director, Museum Curators, and Junior Ambassadors.

국립중앙 박물관은 올 가을에 박물관 ‘스튜디오 ‘몬 M:on‘ 을 개설하고 다양한 온라인 실시간 교육과 콘텐츠를 제작, 공유하는 사업을 본격적으로 시작했다.

스튜디오를 개설하는 첫 단추로 국외에 있는 교민들과 실시간 원격 교육을 진행하였다. 시카고 한인 문화회관과 호주 시드니 문화원과 함께 시카고 시간 9월 20일, 일요일 오후 8시 (한국시간 9월 21일, 월요일 오전10시)에 Zoom 으로 ‘한국 교민과 함께 하는 문화재 탐구-청자 이야기’를 진행하였다.

스튜디오 첫 개관 행사인 만큼, 배기동 국립중앙박불관 관장 외에 다른 부서장들과 시카고 한인 문화회관 회장, 사무총장, 박물관 큐레이터, Junior Ambassador 등 시카고에서 총 60여명이 참석하였다.
