RESONANCE | 공명 brings together artists from different generations, cultural positions, and
lived experiences to explore how material, sensation, the body, memory, and perception form
relationships and expand through one another.

The exhibition approaches “resonance” as both an aesthetic and relational concept. Each
artist develops a distinct material language and formal sensibility, generating unique sensory
frequencies through processes of repetition, accumulation, transformation, trace, surface,
and texture. Within these processes, the body becomes both the agent through which
material is engaged and a medium through which time and experience are accumulated. The
movement of the hand, pressure, repetition, and traces of labor are inscribed upon and
layered into material surfaces, shaping the particular rhythm and tension of each work.
These frequencies do not remain contained within the works themselves. They are sensed
and expanded anew through the viewer’s body and perception, as different sensibilities
encounter and respond to one another between artwork and artwork, self and other, memory
and the present, body and environment, material and space. Resonance emerges precisely
within these relationships.

RESONANCE | 공명 moves beyond a singular identity or narrative, considering differences in
background, experience, and sensibility as possibilities for resonance. Each work retains its
own language and rhythm while entering into relation with others, opening up tensions and
affinities, distance and connection, and new possibilities for perception and understanding.
As viewers move through these different resonances, they are invited to form new
relationships with the works through their own memories and sensibilities—and, perhaps, to
discover a resonance of their own.

 

RESONANCE | 공명은 서로 다른 세대와 문화적 위치, 삶의 경험을 지닌 작가들의 작업을
통해 물질과 감각, 몸과 기억, 그리고 지각이 어떻게 서로 관계를 맺고 확장되는지를 살펴본다.

이번 전시는 ‘공명’을 미학적이면서 동시에 관계적인 개념으로 바라본다. 각 작가는 고유한
물질적 언어와 조형적 태도를 바탕으로 반복과 축적, 변형과 흔적, 표면과 질감의 다양한
과정을 통해 저마다의 감각적 파장을 만들어낸다. 이 과정에서 몸은 물질과 관계 맺는 행위의
주체이자 시간과 경험이 축적되는 매개가 된다. 손의 움직임과 압력, 반복되는 행위와 노동의
흔적은 물질의 표면에 새겨지고 쌓이며, 각 작품만의 고유한 리듬과 긴장을 형성한다.
이러한 파장은 작품 안에 머물지 않는다. 관람자의 몸과 지각을 통해 다시 감지되고 확장되며,
작품과 작품, 개인과 타자, 기억과 현재, 몸과 환경, 물질과 공간 사이에서 서로 다른 감각이
만나고 반응한다. 공명은 바로 이러한 관계 속에서 발생한다.

RESONANCE | 공명은 하나의 정체성이나 단일한 서사를 넘어, 서로 다른 배경과 경험,
감각의 차이 자체를 공명의 가능성으로 바라본다. 각각의 작업은 고유한 언어와 리듬을 유지한
채 서로 관계를 맺으며, 그 사이에서 긴장과 유사성, 거리와 연결, 그리고 새로운 감각과
인식의 가능성을 열어 보인다. 관람자 역시 이 서로 다른 울림 사이를 천천히 오가며, 각자의
기억과 감각을 통해 작품과 새로운 관계를 맺고 자신만의 공명을 발견하기를 바란다.
