We celebrate what is important to us through food. This exhibit explores food, culture and history from both American and Korean viewpoints. Learn about where people got their ingredients, the way technology has changed food preparation, and how one ingredient, cabbage, can become very different dishes (sauerkraut and kimchi). We will finish with a comparison of the harvest holidays of Thanksgiving and Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving). Dive back in history and learn how the early settlers in Buffalo Grove celebrated Thanksgiving and the history of Chuseok in Korea. This exhibit is a partnership between the Raupp Museum and the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago.

시카고한인문화회관과 파트너쉽을 가지고 있는 Buffalo Grove의 Raupp Museum이 공동으로 준비한 “Let’s Eat!” 전시회가 9월 13일에 시작되었다. 이 전시회는 Buffalo Grove의 초기 정착민들이 어떻게 추수감사절을 기념했는지 알아보고, 한국의 대표 명절 추석을 자세히 소개하고 있다. 또한, 추석과 추수감사절을 음식을 중심으로 비교해 보고, 같은 재료가 다른 문화 속에서 어떻게 다른 두 가지 요리가 될 수 있는지 보여준다. 9월 25일 오후 1시에 열린 리셉션에서는 차례지내기 시연이 열렸으며, 전시는 추수감사절 연휴전까지 열릴 예정이다.
