KCCoC reopened its museum doors in time for the Korean Traditional holiday, ‘Chuseok’. The museum worked diligently for months to preserve all of the donated artifacts within the last 10 years to provide a successful exhibition for the Korean community as well as mainstream American culture.

The newly refurbished main museum was transformed to ‘Our Joseon Collection’ with all the artifacts from the late Joseon dynasty. A Chicago Korean Immigration timeline has been added to the wall of the museum entrance. And a special exhibition of ‘One Fine K-Day: Ahssi’ (Joseon maiden) is on display. It shows a daily lifestyle of the late Joseon maiden through the K-Drama ‘Mr. Sunshine: lady Go Ae-Sin’.

시카고 한인 문화회관이 민속 대명절 추석을 맞아 박물관을 재개관하였다. 문화회관 건립 후 10년간 기증받은 문화유산들을 한인 커뮤니티는 물론 주류사회를 위해 효과적으로 전시하기 위해 박물관은 수개월간의 재정비 시간을 가졌다.

새롭게 단장된 문화회관 박물관 주 전시실에는 조선후기 소장품들을 모아서 ‘Our Joseon Collection’ 으로 준비했고, 시카고 한인 이민사 타임라인을 준비하여 한눈에 보는 이민사 역사보드를 준비하였다. 기획전시실에는 ‘One Fine K-Day : Ahssi’ (조선의 아씨) 전시를 조선시대 아씨의 일상과 K-Drama ‘미스터 션샤인’의 고애신 아씨를 접목하여 준비하였다.
