KCCoC 15th Benefit Annual Gala
문화원 연례 후원의 밤 성료

The Korean Cultural Center of Chicago (KCCoC) successfully held its 15th Annual Benefit Gala at BISCO Hall. The gala, held under the theme “Leap Forward,” opened with a powerful Dae Buk performance by musician Deokhwan Kim.
The event was attended by over 250 distinguished guests and supporters. Celebration performances included Hwang Byungki’s ‘Chucheonsa’ performed by Joomi Park (Sori, traditional Korean vocal) and Hyunchae Kim (Gayageum, Korean zither), as well as a mini musical by students from Fremd High School. A special performance by KCCoC Board Member Won Cho added particular significance to the program.
The program continued with a short film showcasing the KCCoC’s 2025 activities and visitor impressions, followed by Executive Director Young Jin Kim’s presentation of plans for 2026, and reflections from Claire Oh, a founding member of the Junior Ambassador. After dinner, funds raised through the paddle fundraising activity will be used to support enriched programming and the sustainable operation of the KCCoC.
시카고한인문화원 (이하 문화원)이 비스코홀에서 제15회 연례 후원의 밤을 성료하였다. ‘도약’라는 주제로 열린 이번 갈라는 김덕환 연주자의 대북연주로 힘찬 개막을 하였다.
이날 행사엔 250여명의 귀빈 및 후원자들이 참석한 가운데, 제니퍼 박 행사위원장의 개막인사와 김영진 사무총장, 강정희 이사장의 환영사로 시작하여 최은주 한인회장, 김정한 총영사, 패트릭 호커 윌링 시장의 축사가 이어졌다. 축하공연으로는 박주미 (소리)와 김현채 (가야금)의 황병기의 “추천사” 공연과 프렘 고등학교 학생들의 미니 뮤지컬 공연이 있었는데, 여기에는 문화원 조원경 이사의 특별무대가 있어서 의미가 컸다.
행사는 지난 2025년 문화원의 활동과 방문객 소감을 담은 영상 상영으로 시작해, 김영진 사무총장의 2026년 계획 발표와 주니어 앰배서더 창립 멤버 오은비 학생의 소감 발표로 이어졌다. 이어진 패들 레이즈에서 모금된 금액은 더욱 풍성한 프로그램과 지속가능한 운영을 위해 쓰여질 예정이다.
