The Korean Cultural Center of Chicago is delighted to invite you to our museum special exhibition, Earthly Eloquence: Tradition and Innovation in Contemporary Korean Ceramics.

 

This exhibition celebrates the dynamic evolution of contemporary Korean ceramics, where centuries-old traditions are reimagined through bold experimentation and innovation. Featuring over 30 works by renowned ceramic masters and emerging artists, Earthly Eloquence highlights the enduring influence of Korea’s rich ceramic heritage while showcasing how today’s artists push the boundaries of form, texture, and concept, forging new possibilities for this time-honored art form. The exhibition also includes works by Korean American artists, who reinterpret their heritage through an American lens, offering a multifaceted perspective.

 

시카고한국문화원은 박물관 특별 전시회 “지상의 웅변: 현대 한국 도자기의 전통과 혁신”에 여러분을 초대합니다.

 

이번 전시는 현대 한국 도자기의 역동적인 변화를 기념하며, 수세기 동안 이어온 전통이 대담한 시도과 혁신을 통해 새롭게 재구성되는 과정을 보여줍니다. 저명한 도예가와 신진 아티스트의 30여 점의 작품이 전시되는 “지상의 웅변”은 한국의 풍부한 도자기 유산이 끼친 지속적인 영향을 강조하고, 오늘날의 예술가들이 형태, 질감, 개념의 경계를 어떻게 확장해 나가며 이 전통 있는 예술 형식에 대한 새로운 가능성을 열어가는지를 보여줍니다. 전시에는 한국계 미국 아티스트의 작품도 포함되어 있으며, 그들은 미국적인 시각을 통해 자신의 유산을 재해석하여 다채로운 관점을 제공합니다.
