시카고한복연구회 첫 정기전시회_한국 전통 유아기 복식전

한복연구가 강금희와 그 회원들은 일상의 지혜, 가족 간의 사랑, 사회적 존중과 질서가 담겨 있는 한복을 단순한 복식이 아닌 문화의 산물로 규정하고, 깊이 있는 연구와 재현을 통해 개인적으로는 전통을 지키며 계승하고 사회적으로는 교육, 전시 등을 통해 대중에게 한복을 직,간접적으로 경험할 수 있는 기회를 만들어 주기 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 의식주 전반에 걸친 한국 문화의 세계화와 함께 한국 문화를 널리 알리고, 더 나아가 한복을 현대의 삶과 연결하여 실생활에서 사용할 수 있는 방안을 모색하여 살아있는 한국의 전통 문화로 이어 나가는 중심에 시카고한복연구회가 있습니다.

The Chicago Hanbok Association (CHA) is dedicated to preserving and studying Hanbok, the traditional clothing of Korea, while exploring its cultural value and meaning.

Led by Hanbok artist Kang Gum Hee and its members, the Association regards Hanbok not merely as attire, but as a cultural artifact that embodies everyday wisdom, familial love, social respect, and order. Through in-depth research and historical reconstructions, they strive to personally preserve tradition while also creating opportunities for the public to engage with hanbok both directly and indirectly through education, exhibitions, and cultural programs. As part of the global promotion of Korean culture-the fabric of daily life: food, dress, and home- the Chicago Hanbok Association (CHA) plays a central role in sharing Korean traditions with diverse audiences. Furthermore, the Association seeks ways to integrate hanbok into today’s daily life, ensuring that it continues as a living tradition in contemporary society.
