‘조선의 지도’ 문화원 박물관 특별전

 

During the late Joseon dynasty (1392-1910), cartography and the production of maps in general became widespread in Korea. Many presentation formats were created at that time, including those found in this exhibition: screens, rubbings, sheet maps, and atlases in various sizes.

 

Exhibition curated by Dr. Richard A. Pegg, Director and Curator of Asian Art for the MacLean Collection Asian Art Museum and Map Library.

 

조선 후기(1392–1910)에 이르러 한국에서는 지도 제작과 지도 전반의 생산이 크게 확산되었다. 이 시기에는 본 전시에서 볼 수 있듯이 병풍, 탁본, 낱장 지도, 그리고 다양한 크기의 지도첩 등여러 가지 형식으로 제작되었다.

 

본 전시는 맥클린 컬렉션 아시아 미술관 및 지도 도서관 (MacLean Collection Asian Art Museum and Map Library)의 아시아 미술 디렉터이자 큐레이터인 리처드 페그 (RichardA. Pegg) 박사가 기획하였다.
