“Saekdong Layers” Exhibition Reception

시카고한인문화원 갤러리 초대작가전으로 열리는 ‘Saekdong Layers’는 덕성여대 김윤 교수가 전통적으로 의복과 의례용 물품에 사용되던 한국의 색동 문양을 현대적인 공간 설치로 풀어낸 작품들이다. 연속적으로 매달린 스카프들은 색의 흐름으로 이루어진 통로를 형성하며, 관람객이 작품 안을 직접 걸으며 색동을 생생하고 겹겹이 쌓인 공간으로 경험하게 한다. 전시는 2월 11일까지 진행될 예정으로 1월 31일, 토요일 오후 2시에 열리는 리셉션에서 작가를 직접 만나 작품에 대한 이야기를 들어보는 시간을 갖는다. 리셉션에는 간단한 다과가 준비될 예정으로 사전 등록이 가능하다.

Gallery Invitational Exhibition: ‘Saekdong Layers’ brings the traditional Korean saekdong—multicolored stripes once used in clothing and ceremonial objects—into a contemporary spatial installation. A sequence of suspended scarves forms a flowing corridor of color, allowing visitors to walk through the work and experience saekdong as a living, layered space.
