Special Lecture by Dr. Mark Peterson

We are pleased to invite Dr. Mark Peterson, who earned his Ph.D. in Korean Studies from Harvard University, for a special lecture on Korean history titled: “Korean Liberation: 80 Years in the Rearview Mirror.”

Dr. Peterson, author of The Frog Outside the Well, will guide us through a retrospective journey spanning the 80 years since Korea’s liberation. The lecture will be delivered in Korean, accompanied by an English-language presentation.

About Dr. Mark Peterson:

  • Ph.D. in Korean history from Harvard University

  • Korean history and classical Korean literature professor for 30 years at Brigham Young University

  • Creator of the YouTube channel “Frog Outside the Well”, focused on Korean history and culture

This historic milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of the independence movement and to honor the spirit of liberation.
