닥종이 한국 인형전을 열며…
화사한 봄날을 맞이하여 5월 2일 부터 5월 13일까지 시카고한인문화원 갤러리에서 권향숙의 “봄 날” 닥종이 한국 인형 작품전이 시카고에서는 처음으로 열릴 예정입니다.
이번 어머니날을 기념하여 이민 1,2세를 위한 한국 고유의전통 예술을 선 보이는 문화 행사인 부드러운 만큼 손끝으로 느껴지는 한지로 한장 한장 살을 붙이고 예쁜옷을 입혀 만들어진 65점의 닥종이 인형을 선 보이게 됩니다.
권향숙씨는 1999년 시카고 Foster Bank에서 지점토 한국 인형 작품전과 시카고 Field Museum에서 작품 전시를 한 바 있습니다.
Exhibition Opening of Korean Paper Dolls
To celebrate the bright days of a new season, Spring Day — a Korean paper doll solo exhibition by Agnes Kwon — will be held for the first time at the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago from May 2 to May 13, 2025.
Presented in celebration of both springtime and Mother’s Day, Spring Day offers a meaningful cultural experience for both first and second generation immigrants, as well as the broader community. The exhibition features 65 intricately handcrafted paper dolls, each created with soft, textured dak hanji (Korean mulberry bark paper) and dressed in beautifully detailed clothing.
Agnes Kwon has exhibited in venues previously including Foster Bank in 1999 and the Field Museum in Chicago.
