‘2030 부산 세계 박람회’ 유치를 기원하는 특별한 전시회가 문화회관 갤러리 초대전으로 열립니다. 송천 윤진우 작가의 제 19회 개인전이기도 한 이번 전시회를 위해 시카고를 찾은 작가는 이렇게 말합니다.

“시카고는 부산시와 자매 결연 도시라고 하기에, 이왕 미국에서 하는 것이라면 시카고에서 전시를 하고 한국을 상징할 수 있는 전통 장승 한 쌍을 세워 한국의 뿌리깊은 문화를 알리고자 제가 가진 재주로 한국을 알리고자 합니다.”

전시는 6월 30일부터 7월 12일까지 문화회관 갤러리에서 열리며, 7월 1일 오후 5시에는 오프닝 리셉션이 열립니다.

Jin Woo Yoon, woodwork artist from Busan, Korea will hold his 19th solo exhibition at the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago (KCCoC). He is an award-winning artist in Korea and has held 18 solo exhibitions and participated in approximately 150 group exhibitions. Yoon has been recognized in Korea as a woodwork master in 2022. The reason he chose the city of Chicago for his exhibition is because his hometown of Busan and Chicago are sister cities. His main goal for this exhibition is to promote Busan, Korea with his talents and to share the desire to attract the upcoming 2030 World Expo to be held in Busan. As for his plans while here in Chicago is to carve a pair of good luck totem poles for the KCCoC.
