The ‘4th Annual New Artist Contest’ hosted by the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago closed the artwork entry deadline on October 31 with announcement of the winners on November 4 (Wed). This year’s theme, ‘A Story of Us’ was open to participants from high school students to adults all across the US, with total of 63 entries ranging in various artistic creations.

On November 7th, at 5 pm, the awards ceremony and opening reception were pre-booked at the Cultural Center Gallery, and broadcasted live on Facebook in real time. Artwork of the winners and all entries were exhibited at KCCoC Gallery until Dec. 2nd.

The winners are as follows:

Grand Prize: ‘Processing of drawing study’ (Sungeun Bae)

1st Prize: ‘John 1:1’ (Carol Jeong Hyun Nam)

시카고 한인문화회관 주최 제4회 신인작가 공모전이 지난 10월 31일 작품을 마감하고 11월 4일 (수) 심사를 거쳐 수상작을 발표하였다. 올해에는 ‘A Story of Us’ 라는 주제로 미국에 거주하는 고등학생 이상 한인을 대상으로 하고 모든 장르의 미술작품이 출품 가능했던 만큼, 폭 넓은 참가자들 34명이 총 63점의 다양한 작품들을 출품하였다. 11월 7일 토요일 오후 5시에 열린 오프닝 리셉션은 사전예약을 받고 관계자 및 수상자와 가족들 총30 여명이 참석하였다. 행사는 실시간으로 페이스북 라이브로 생중계되었다.
