The ‘4th Annual New Artist Contest’ hosted by the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago closed the artwork entry deadline on October 31 with announcement of the winners on November 4 (Wed). This year’s theme, ‘A Story of Us’ was open to participants from high school students to adults all across the US, with total of 63 entries ranging in various artistic creations.

The winners are as follows:

Grand Prize: ‘Processing of drawing study’ (Sungeun Bae)

1st Prize: ‘John 1:1’ (Carol Jeong Hyun Nam)

2nd Prize: ‘Wishes!!’ (Kyung Jun Yoo)

Special Selection: ‘Music box in Autumn’ (Khun Hong), ‘Still Life with a Blue Cup’ (Sung Hee Byun), ‘Basket Full of Happiness’ (Grace Yoo), ‘Sincerity Moves Heaven’ (Mihae Rhee), ‘Memory of Autumn’ (Mina Yu)

Encouragement Awards: ‘Light goes on’ (Romee Han), ‘Pistil’ (Sukyung Lee), ‘Photos’ (Jung Yi), ‘The Sky Flows’ (Changhoon Kim), ‘Hometown’ (Kwang Ok Kim), ‘Waiting’ (Hyoyoung choi), ‘The Four Seasons’ (Jee Sun Moon), ‘Scholar’s Nature’ (Hyechong Mitchell)

On November 7th, at 5 pm, the awards ceremony and opening reception were pre-booked at the Cultural Center Gallery, and broadcasted live on Facebook in real time. Artwork of the winners and all entries were exhibited at KCCoC Gallery until Dec. 2nd.

시카고 한인문화회관 주최, 제4회 신인작가 공모전이 지난 10월 31일 작품을 마감하고 11월 4일 (수) 심사를 거쳐 수상작을 발표하였다. 올해에는 ‘A Story of Us’ 라는 주제로 미국에 거주하는 고등학생 이상 한인을 대상으로 하고 모든 장르의 미술작품이 출품 가능했던 만큼, 폭 넓은 참가자들이 총 63점의 다양한 작품들을 출품하였다.

오는 11월 7일 오후 5시에 시상식 및 오프닝 리셉션을 문화회관 갤러리에서 사전 예약으로 진행하며, 행사는 실시간으로 페이스북 라이브로 생중계될 예정이다.
