DESCRIPTION:The Korean Education Center of Chicago will host the “The 6th Midwest Korean Speech Contest” on April 5th (Saturday) at 1 PM in the BISCO Hall of the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago (KCCoC).\n\nThe “Midwest Korean Speech Contest” is an event where students learning Korean at universities in the Midwest compete in their Korean speaking skills. It is co-organized by the Midwest Association of Teachers of Korean (MATK) and the Korean Education Center of Chicago.\n\nParticipants can look forward to a variety of traditional Korean cultural experiences, including a performance by the Korean Performing Arts Institute of Chicago (KPAC) featuring the daegeum, Korean traditional dance and K-Pop dance by the KCCoC’s youth volunteer group ‘Junior Ambassador,’ and traditional games like jegi and tuho.\n\n시카고한국교육원(원장 송선진)은 4월 5일(토) 오후 1시부터 시카고한인문화원(Korean Cultural Center of Chicago) 비스코홀(BISCO Hall)에서“제6회 미중서부 대학생 한국어 말하기 대회”를 개최한다.\n\n“미중서부 대학생 한국어 말하기 대회”는 미 중서부 소재 대학에서 한국어를 배우는 학생들이 한국어 말하기 실력을 겨루는 행사로, MATK(Midwest Association of Teachers of Korean)와 시카고한국교육원이 공동으로 주관한다.\n\n시카고한국전통예술원(KPAC)의 대금 공연과 시카고한인문화원 청소년 봉사단의 한국무용, K팝 댄스 공연과 함께 제기・투호 등 전통놀이 체험도 예정되어 있어 참가자들은 다채로운 한국문화를 즐길 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.\n
